01 Jan Megg Lea – 2023 Leading Woman / Living Magazine
From a young age, Megg Lea knew cosmetology was her calling. By the age of 17, she had already earned her cosmetology license and began sharpening her skills in the industry. In 2013, she took the leap into entrepreneurship and opened Fringe Studio. As a fourth-generation business owner, Megg’s vision was to create a space that was not only professional and efficient but also fun, safe, and welcoming for both staff and clients. “When my staff is happy, my clients are happy,” she says.
From the start, Megg set out to make Fringe Studio stand apart. Today, it thrives as a full-service hair salon and makeup studio, offering a wide range of services for women, men, and children. She approaches her business with a mindset of growth and adaptability, qualities she encourages in her team as well. “You’ve got to be able to work with different people and be patient. Growth is a process.”
Mentorship is another passion of Megg’s, especially when it comes to empowering women. “Seeing the growth of every individual means the world to me,” she shares. Beyond beauty services, she values the lasting relationships she builds with her guests. “I love making people look and feel good, but it’s more than that, they become like family.”
